REFLECTION AND RESURGENCE |BOOK REVIEW.

 

Allah knows how much I wanted to buy this book but I didn't have the means (#studentlife). I couldn't wait for it to get published, I loved this book the moment my sister @strokes.of.my.pen started talking about it. A few days after it's publication I got a text a text from sister Lubnah telling me to check my email (my email notifications are turned off for laser mode purpose). Upon checking my email I saw that Lubnah had sent me a copy of Reflection and Resurgence.I got so emotional and went on asking her whether she sent the book by mistake. She told me a stranger bought two copies and asked her to gift the other copy to someone 😭.And that's how I got this book.I don't know the person who gifted me yet but I promised to read this book in Ramadhan so that for each thing I learn from this book, then the strangers rewards get amplified.

Alhamdulillah I have finished reading this book. This would be my sixth read in this year. I may not do justice to this master piece that has served as an Emaan booster in these mid days of Ramadhan where most of us lose track.🌴

Reflection and Resurgence is a must read for every single person who wants to better their relationship with Allah Subhaanahu wata'ala. The book starts by reminding the believer about their origin (from dirt) and their ending (to dirt). The book explains about how we as believers get dirty on a daily basis ;spiritually and physically. And explains how to purify the body and the heart with the help of hadith of the prophet peace be upon him and the ultimate guide; the Qur’an.🌴

An outstanding thing about chapter one is that it shows the journey of a believer from when his/her faith is low to when the faith rises. The author explains some of the dangers that a believer may fall into when they feel sinful,it also highlights the dangers of arrogance that may occur when a believers faith is high.I love the fact that our sister Lubnah uses stories from the Seerah and Quran to scare us a little bit then uses another story to give us hope in our journey as believers.

The second chapter of the book talks about dealing with calamity. The author again uses stories from the Qur’an and Hadith to show the believer how to respond to hardship. My favorite story is The Lost Pearl Necklace.

The third chapter emphasizes on fostering good relationships with mankind. It shows a believer that his/her faith is in question if they claim to be believers yet they don't have good relationships with mankind.The book gives you tips on how to forster good relationships with mankind. My favorite part in this chapter is The Strongest Love Language. Get the book and find out what this part entails 🤗.

The last chapter talks about the relationship between the believer and Allah. The author talks about how to attain Allah's Love. How to keep Allah close and your go to confidant. The author shows us what Allah Loves so that we can adopt those deeds and become Allah's beloved servants.I love how the subject of finding Allah's love is attached to the ultimate reward which is Jannah and also how the love of Allah can be a reason for us to live happily in this world. My favorite story here is the story of Hateem's daughter that shows the power of relying on Allah Subhaanahu wata'ala.

The last part of the book brought tears and grief because as I thought I was still getting more to drink, it's when I had reached the last page of the book ;choose gratitude.

May Allah grant me and whoever reads this book the ability to follow it up with action. May Allah Subhaanahu wata'ala grant sister Lubnah and her family their deepest desires and duas. May Allah answer the duas of the stranger who gifted me this book. May Allah bless you reader.
