From Hero To Zero to Hero

Over the years people have written books, others sang songs, some acted movies just to talk about what they love. Here is a story about my beloved Muslim artist, Maher Zain. His life has been a great inspiration for me and many of us. Thus I decided to research his life and at the end put all my research in this beautiful, informative, insightful article.

His Personal Life.

Who doesn't have a personal life? Maher Zain Mustafa Maher Zain was born on 16th July 1981 in Tripoli, Lebanon. He is a Swedish RnB singer, songwriter and music producer of a Lebanese origin. His family moved from Lebanon to Sweden when he was eight years old. He continued schooling in Sweden and later joined the university to pursue a bachelor's degree in Aeronautical Engineering.
Maher got married in the year 2009 to a beautiful woman by the name J.Aisha.They have three kids(two girls and one boy) Aya, Jasmin, and Abdullah.

Before Change!

While in Sweden, America Maher Zain met a great distributor by the name Red One who advised him to move to New York if at all he wanted to make it in his music career.  While in New York he got a chance to work with famous musicians the likes of lady gaga. Maher was far successful, he had fans, friends, money, women, but he wasn't truly happy. He admitted that he always felt incomplete and guilt in his heart since he wasn't living an Islamic life. He wanted to change.

The Turning Point!

Maher Zain traveled back to Sweden in 2007 before the month of Ramadhan, he was 27 years old. When Ramadhan commenced, he took the chance to fast, pray, he attended Islamic talks, above all he reflected on his life. Asking Allah the most high for guidance, since it was really hard for him to leave his past and for what was right. Maher Zain finally decided to leave his music career and chose what would bring him true happiness.
It wasn't easy to let go of all the riches, fame, friends just to please his Maker. Maher Zain went from grace to grass. He went from Hero to Zero. Most importantly he became a practicing Muslim.

He prolonged his stay in Sweden, he wanted to talk to the youths, to share his story. He gave daily talks at the mosque. To encourage young people to be their best and live an Islamic life. Finally, Maher met a friend who introduced him to Awakening Records, where he could pass his message to the youth and the Ummah at large. Maher Zain joined Awakening Records where he was able to turn his music career into what pleases his Lord, he made his music spiritual and uplifting. Maher confessed that numbers don't matter to him but the real deal is the impact his music has.

Maher Zain went from being a truck driver to a famous Muslim musician. His followers have gone up to over 26Million on Facebook,
1. 76Million on Twitter and 3.7 Million on Instagram. Maher Zain confessed that his chief aim is to connect the world regardless of the differences, thus he founded One Family Foundation where he engages his fans in charity work and things that can bring positive change globally. He has also collaborated with different Muslim artists, with different nationalities to emphasize the same. He released his music tracks with subtitles and in different languages so as to connect with his fans.

He has worked with Muslim musicians from different nationalities. He worked with Mustafa Ceceli who is a Turkish Superstar,  Mesut Kurtis, Irfan Makki, Haris J, Lenny Martinez, Arif Aslam, etc.

Maher Zain has earned various tremendous awards due to his hard work and uniqueness of his songs. He was awarded the  International breakthrough Awards. He received 25×Platinum Award, Sony Music in Indonesia.

CHARITY WORK. 

Salam charity project. 

Maher Zain conducts most of his charity work during his music tours. The following are some of the charity events he has done around the world.

Maher Zain's birthday Fundraiser for clean drinking water in Africa.
Songs for the children US tour in aid of children around the world.
Spain Tour to aid orphans, the project cost $150,000.
King Hussein Foundation for cancer in Jordan.
Khadija Foundation in Indonesia.
Fundraising Concert and visit to Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services in the UAE.
To raise Orphan awareness he released So Soon in association with the NGO Save an Orphan.

He released the song - Number One for me which teaches on the value of our mothers.

So Soon - to remind the world about orphans and campaign against child labor.

Among the songs about Allah are; The power, Always be there, Subhanallah, My Life, True love, etc

To praise prophet Muhammad Peace be upon him he sung-Wahishna ya Rasullah(We have missed you a prophet of God), Swalllu 3Ala Rasulallah, etc.

AWAKENING RECORDS. 

Awakening Records.

In 2012  Awakening Records was launched. Attendance of 128,350 people around the world attended the launch. The event was graced by 23 countries Algeria, Australia, Belgium, Canada, Germany, Indonesia, USA, South Africa, etc. Awakening Records was sponsored by big brands; Mc Donald, Yahoo, Sony, Canon, etc.

In December 2016 Awakening Records released the best Islamic Music compilation album featuring 16tracks from the biggest names in Islamic music.

Awakening Records has inspired so many people around the world. Through the production of high-quality videos. It has released official lyrics videos online to make artist's songs more accessible.
It has been featured in newspapers, magazines, radio, and television throughout the world.

Awakening records have three publications; A Journey to God by Dr. Jarre Auda, Western Muslims by Tariq Ramadhan and MTV Mecca by Christine Backer.

The distribution of awakening records is done through digital distribution markets; iTunes, Amazon, etc.

In the year 2012 Awakening Records had 50,000 to 185,000, the number of video views went from 46 Million to 115 Million.

It is with no doubt that Maher Zain has regained all the power, fame, money and fans. He has gained everything he had lost. Truly if you leave what Allah hates for that which he loves, He will replace whatever you left for his sake, with that which is better.
